People Counting

Arcus offers 2 types of people counting: beam counting and image based counting. Both methods are cloud based and all counters send their count data dynamically into the Arcus cloud which provides for real time measurement and statistics.

Beam based

The Arcus traditional beam-based counting system can be used in single or multiple entry facilities and across multiple sites. Management and other nominated staff can log on at any time using any computer with a web browser to run reports and view counts in real time. Arcus has a range of reports in graph, bar chart and spread sheet formats showing the customer traffic in resolutions from one hour to one month..

Main Features

  • Wireless or fixed LAN connectivity
  • Cloud based monitoring providing multiple site connectivity
  • Export of data

Arcus Flow Vision based

The Arcus Flow Bi-directional vision-based Counter uses image based technology that can provide information on direction of movement through the transit area. Compared with typical infrared beams or time of flight sensors the Arcus Flow people counter is able to count multiple people passing at the same time, whilst understanding which direction they are travelling in:

  • Direction of travel providing separate counts of in and out.
  • Overhead Imaging being able to count multiple at a time compared with tradition beam counters.

Importantly, even though camera technology is used, no photographic images are captured or stored.

Main Features

  • Wireless or fixed LAN connectivity
  • LED indication
  • Cloud based monitoring providing multiple site connectivity
  • Export of data

The Arcus imaging based counter is easy to install and does not require a local host computer, just an internet connection to tap into and a power source. The imaging system knows the direction of travel of everyone and counts multiple people at once going in and out. This allows for further reporting such as min/max numbers of people in each location and calculates the average length of stay. Being cloud based it provides one central counting system for all facilities. Reports are in graphs by month, day with drill down to the minute. Data is exportable into applications such as Excel. All counters send data to a central cloud where reporting is accessible via web browsers on each counter or group.
